Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we have announced for the past few weeks, Holy Trinity will be restarting in-person services on July 5th for the 10:30 am traditional service. For right now, the 9 a.m. Contemporary Service will continue online.
As we prepare for the in-person service, we want you to know we are taking what the Elders and I believe are appropriate precautions to limit the risk of exposure to the coronavirus.
  • The Sanctuary has been cleaned and unoccupied for the past several days.
  • We are taping off pews so members can clearly see what 6ft distances are and we are taping off every other row.
  • Bulletins will be available for those who need them, but we will also have the slideshow running so you don't have to take a bulletin if you don't want to.
  • Greeters will greet from a distance.
There are some things that we are asking all members to do, as well, in order to make this as safe as possible. We understand that some of these things may not be your favorite thing, but we ask that, for the sake of your brothers and sisters in Christ, you follow these guidelines.
  • If you don't feel well, have a fever, or know you have been exposed to the coronavirus, please stay home. We will be live-streaming the service. You can worship online.
  • Please maintain a 6ft distance from other members not in your family (people you live with). I know it's been a long time and we'd all love to give each other a big hug, but please keep it to a wave from a distance.
  • Please wear a mask. If you don't have one, we will have some to give you. I know some of you don't like the masks, but this is not optional. This article from Healthline does a pretty good job of describing which type of masks are most effective (
  • As you come into the sanctuary, please make your way down the middle aisle towards the front and find a pew with an open area that will allow you and your family to be at least 6 ft from anyone else. Then make your way towards the side. Please do not sit on the end of the pew towards the middle aisle unless the area further towards the side aisle is already taken so people don't have to climb over you to get to a seat. This means you may not be able to sit in "your" seat, but please be understanding.
  • We will be setting the offering plates in the back of the sanctuary. Please put your offering in the plate as you make your way to your seat. We will not be passing the plates during the service but will bring them forward during the offering time.
  • At the end of the service, the ushers will dismiss people by row starting with the back rows and moving forward. Please follow their instructions.
Some of you may not be able to come to the in-person service and some may feel they aren't ready, yet, and you want to wait a while. That's perfectly fine. We know there are some people who would like to worship in person again and we want to provide that as an option, but please don't feel pressured to come if you don't feel comfortable with it. This is a matter of Christian freedom and no one should judge another for acting according to their conscience in this matter.
For those of you who choose not to come, we will still be live-streaming the service at 10:30 am on Facebook, Youtube, and the website.
Note: If you do choose to come, the service is being broadcast, live. The camera is mounted on the lower ceiling in the back of the sanctuary. So, please be aware that you may appear on camera, especially if you walk down the middle aisle. For the children's message, we are planning to put up a slide for the live stream so the children are not broadcast. during that time. Again, if they walk down the middle aisle at another time of the service, they will be on camera.
