The Lord’s Supper (i.e. Communion) is an important part of the life of the baptized Christian. Baptism brings the forgiveness of sins, the Holy Spirit, and faith to a believer welcoming the person into the family of God (i.e. the church). Communion is the nourishment that Jesus provides for his people on the journey of faith. God promises in this supper that he is not far away, rather in, with and under the bread and the wine, his body and blood he is present and with us. He comes to bring the forgiveness of sins, the strengthening of faith to believe in his promises, the unification of his church, and he goes out with us to impact the world through us.
